Brussels Airlines Increases Flights to Milan

Brussels Airlines has announced that they will be offering a wider range of flights to Milan during the 2009 - 2010 winter season.

The airline company confirmed that from October 25th, it will offer 12 weekly flights from Brussels to Milan Linate Airport.

This would represent a total of 42 weekly connections to Milan with 30 scheduled flights already currently operating to Malpensa Airport.

Linate Airport is situated just 8km from the city centre and is very popular among corporate travellers who will be able to make use of the business class product that will be provided on the new service alongside an economy option.

The additional flights this winter will be operated as part of a codeshare agreement with Lufthansa Italia.

Brussels Airlines claims to be the “strongest player” in the market of flights to Italy from the Belgian capital, with regular services to Rome, Florence, Naples and other popular destinations.

Star1 Airlines Announces Introduction of Regular Vilnius - Milan Flights

As of November 21, 2009, Star1 Airlines will launch regular flights to Milan from Vilnius. Aswell as the introduction of the new route they will also continue their existing service to London and Dublin.

The Airline company will fly to Milan Malpensa Airport from Vilnius Airport twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.  Star1 Airlines is managed by the Star Team Group which also owns the tour operator Star Holidays.

Milan Bergamo Airport low cost car park re-opens

The low cost car park at Bergamo Airport situated to the north of the airport terminal is easily reached via the Bergamo Orbital Road. It offers has 24 hour security and has a free courtesy shuttle bus connecting it with the airport.

This is the cheapest parking available at Bergamo Airport with parking rates ranging from €8.00 for the first 24 hours to €36.00 for 7 days. Passengers travelling with tour operators are entitled to the special rate (€31.50 per week) on showing the booking confirmation slip at the car park pay point.

Milan Among New Routes Out of Luton From easyJet

easyJet has launched 3 additional routes out of London Luton Airport. Among these new routes is one to Milan. The other two are to Mahon in Minorca and Montpellier in France.

As well as offering convenience, these new routes can help beat the credit crunch blues with prices starting from an incredible £26.99 one way or £47.58 return including taxes and charges. Flights to Milan start from July 6th 2009 and are already on sale.

Milan Linate Airport Is Home To New TNT Express Base

TNT Express, the international market leader in global express services, opened its’ newest hub within Milan Linate Airport. The €12 million 40,000m2 consolidation and distribution centre will serve Milan and surrounding locales.

It has been designed to handle around 45,000 items per day and employs 500 staff to operate the state-of-the-art equipment.

easyJet Increases Number of Flights From Milan Malpensa

From October 2009, easyJet will be increasing the number of daily flights they provide from Milan Malpensa Airport. These will include both European and domestic flights.

As of 2nd October flights between Milan and Naples will increase from 4 to 5 a day, while from October 5th flights to Barcelona will go up from 2 to 3 per day and those to Lamezia Terme will double from 1 to 2 each day as of October 6th.

Routes from Milan to Amsterdam, Madrid and Rome Fiumcino all benefit from an additional daily flight as of 26th October.

Free Audio Books Offered From Malpensa Airport

A new initiative launched by Oneworld airline alliance is to allow travellers to download free audio books, no matter which airline they have flown with.

So far only those lucky enough to fly into either Milan Malpensa or Brussels Zaventem Airports will be able to benefit from this new programme, although there are plans to include Rome Fiumicino soon.

The way the books are accessed is through the airport´s wireless network system from a laptop, smartphone or other internet-enabled device. As many as three audio books can be downloaded at any one time for free.

Among the approximately 4o titles on offer are bestsellers like Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and Dreams From My Father by Barack Obama.

New Ryanair Routes from Milan to Start in July

From July 2009 Ryanair is introducing new routes from Milan Bergamo (Orio al Serio) Airport. One of these routes will fly to the Italian city of Pescara, which is in the Abruzzo region of Italy.

Other routes will journey further afield to countries such as France, Spain and Morroco. Destinations include Malaga, Nantes and Tangier.

The most recent addition sees flights being offered between Milan Bergamo and Figari, Corsica. These went on sale just over a week ago.
